When Liz and Keith Wilkinson walked into the Beau-Port showroom they were immediately impressed with the Rotpunkt kitchen displays. They felt that the fresh clean lines of the high quality German-made kitchens would be perfect for their penthouse apartment kitchen. Their previous kitchen had a very traditional style and layout. They both felt that the almost square shape of the kitchen needed to be totally redesigned to make better use of the space.
Working closely with Beau-Port’s head designer Mark Johnson, a new and dynamic kitchen design was developed that combined the light reflecting Rotpunkt Zerox XG extra gloss door fronts in Warm White, with added texture, warmth and colour contrast of the Grey Real Oak used to create an island/peninsular breakfast bar, which extends up the adjoining wall with display shelves. Easy to access bi-fold wall units, two with feature frosted glass and silver trim, plus a pull out tall larder unit, provide additional storage space.
“We really liked the Rotpunkt displays and we were impressed with the high quality of the furniture. We immediately warmed to Mark and knew we could trust him with our home and to project manage everything. We found him so easy to relate to and we knew he was the right person for the project. So we were happy to just go off on a four week holiday and leave Mark and his team to get on with the installation,” commented Keith Wilkinson.
Beau-Port’s project management included the removal of the existing kitchen, replastering walls, all decorating, refitting the kitchen, quartz worktops, all plumbing and electrics, all decorating and supply and installation of all appliances, except the existing fridge/freezer.
On return from their holiday the couple were both thrilled with the finished kitchen and Liz Wilkinson commented: “It was so amazing to see our new kitchen totally transformed and complete when we got home, we were so delighted with it and Mark and his team had cleaned up so well after their work, even cleaning the hall carpet and everywhere was cleared of dust and absolutely spotless. It was so perfect to come home to and we are so pleased with every aspect including the quality of the workmanship, not only of the furniture but also of the decorating, plastering, electrical and plumbing work.”
“Beau-Port was the first kitchen company we visited and we were very impressed with the showroom and after meeting Mark and seeing the design he came up with, we didn’t want to look at anything else and we were happy to go with Beau-Port. It all felt so right as he came up with a design we knew would work for us.” continued Liz Wilkinson.
The Wilkinson’s are very enthusiastic about all of the elements that they love in their new kitchen and commented: “We spend a lot more time in our new kitchen and love the breakfast bar, always having breakfast and lunch there. It is also such a comfortable place to sit and read and work as well. We also like the way that Mark has designed the Quartz worktops to run up the wall behind the sink and cover the windowsill as well, we like his attention to details like that.”
Lighting was important to the couple and the new under lighting around the edge of the work surfaces, adds further warmth and interest to the room.
‘We also love the contrasting textured wood on the walls and breakfast bar and shelving where we now have some personal items on display. Plus the soft-close feature on the drawers, the way that the wall cupboards open upwards which is much more practical and the internal elements of the furniture, so well fitted out and such good quality, just wonderful!” continued Liz Wilkinson.
Keith Wilkinson was keen to invest in a kitchen that had longevity and he commented:
“We wanted a kitchen that would last a long time and still look good in years to come and we feel confident the product and the design and installation by Beau-Port is a good investment. Mark also understood how the kitchen needed to be planned to flow properly. We had initially wanted to have the breakfast bar on the other side of the room, but Mark pointed out how it would then have been too close to the door. It works much better to the right of the door, giving easier access to the rest of the room.”
“Mark came to visit our home to see the existing kitchen and to discuss our own ideas and thoughts on the kitchen design. He really listened to what we wanted and would like to achieve. He then drew up a 3D design of the kitchen and worked with us to finalise the design, finishes, colours and cost, giving us time to decide on the details. He scheduled in the project for when it best suited us to fit in with our plans, plus a schedule of how the work would be completed while we were away.”
“We also liked the fact that Mark never gave us the ‘hard sell’. He understood that we didn’t want to cut corners and wanted something special. We feel that our new kitchen is good value for such a high quality kitchen, with all the design work, decorating, plumbing, electrics, all the Bosch appliances, Quartz worktops, lighting and project management.”
Beau-Port Kitchens also price matched and supplied and fitted all of the Bosch appliances including dishwasher, washing machine, hob, combined microwave oven and large oven.
“We would highly recommend Beau-Port to our friends and family - in fact we already have!”
