Bespoke Bedroom Furniture, Gentleman’s Dressing Room and Study

Mark Johnson, our head designer at Beau-Port, came up with an ingenious solution for one of his existing clients to combine a gentleman’s dressing room with a study. Mark had already designed a large Shaker style kitchen for the family, with additional bespoke furniture including dining room table, chairs, breakfast bar stools and a large dresser.

The Patel family were so delighted with all of the projects completed by Beau-Port that they decided to look at other areas of their home, to see where Mark and his team could help them to make the most of their space.

Mark’s practical solution for bedroom furniture was in response to learning more about the client and their lifestyle and how they wanted to use the space. Mr Patel also needed somewhere to work from home and a dressing room that was separate from the main bedroom, so that early morning starts did not disturb his wife. The first approach was to take a look at the couple’s main bedroom, where Mark has designed an eight door wardrobe along one wall. This bespoke furniture contains many imaginative and practical features including LED internal lighting that comes on when the doors open, plus similar beaded lighting to the internal dressing area with internal mirror and storage area for jewellery, make-up, perfumes etc., Other features include custom shoe racks that can be moved up and down depending on the shoe size.

The same bedroom furniture was installed in Mr Patel’s gentleman’s dressing room and study with one double and one single wardrobe fitted along one wall, complete with all of the features including internal LED lighting. On the right angle to the wardrobes is a range of bespoke storage cupboards with shelving for files and office items, in a style that blends beautifully with the wardrobes.

Mark then designed a spacious work area for Mr Patel with a large fitted desk with a feature Iroko African hard wood top, creating the perfect multi-functional room that gives him space, privacy and convenience.

The British made bespoke furniture combines the very best quality materials including 30 mm hardwood, oak feature interiors and birch veneer, made by British craftsmen. One of the many benefits of painted furniture is that it can be painted an alternative colour at a later date to create a totally new look and give the furniture longevity.

Beau-Port has a bedroom furniture display in their 2000 sq ft showroom, where clients can come and see the exceptional quality and striking design of the bespoke bedroom furniture range, which can be individually designed, installed and painted to suit the client’s taste.

Images of this project have been so popular on Houzz, the leading platform for home renovation and design, that this Beau-Port project won a Houzz Award in the Design Category, as some of the most popular among the more than 25 million monthly users.

“We are very honoured to have been selected for this prestigious award, voted for by the public who use the Houzz resource. We are especially pleased to win it for our new bedroom furniture range, which we can make to any style and design. Our intention has been to create a range of high quality bedroom furniture that will last a lifetime,”
