We love to create kitchen Islands in Hampshire
As a stand-alone piece of kitchen furniture, a kitchen Island is a designers dream at Beau-Port Kitchens in Hampshire. Completely bespoke and unique to the customers needs the only limitation could be the space available. Contemporary German furniture will provide sleek lines and a minimalistic elegant statement. Handmade painted kitchen Islands reflect reflect traditional kitchen values and design with all the modern convenience of today's Island. An Island should be more than just a box in the middle of the kitchen. Beautiful, practical and functional are important watch words for our designers. Straight lines, curves and even natural wavy edges are all possible with a bespoke design from Beau-Port Kitchens.
The featured Island highlights the very latest in German design trends. Titanium grey handles doors and draws with push to open or profile edging combine with pale oak open display space. The Island includes a Siemens vented flex induction hob with built in extraction which means the cook is at the centre of the action, with clear sight-lines through the kitchen and no need for an extractor over the island. Two deep draws under the hob provide more than enough storage for pans and oven ware. The Island also has space for a dish washer or washing machine and a set of waste disposal bins. There's plenty of worktop space for trivets and food preparation. On the back of the Island there is cupboard storage with push to close doors beneath the extended natural wood breakfast bar which seats 3 to 4 comfortably. Beautiful, practical, functional and on display at Beau Port Kitchens in Southsea, Hampshire. A real show stopper and talking point, why not drop in and see for yourself.
Handmade Islands offer even more design flexibility. With every unit created specifically for the island, there are no limitations on size. Soft curves and full semicircle cabinets are all a possibility. If you have the luxury of lots of space, why not invest in a stunning stand alone Island much bigger than the average kitchen Island. A multi-purpose piece of furniture with something for everyone, which is exactly what one of our clients in Berkshire did. Their beautiful Island featured a butlers sink, opposite the large AGA, providing a fantastic food preparation and cooking zone. In addition to a hand washing sink, matching butchers block, book case, a comfortable seating and dinning area with full sized table, oodles of storage cupboards and draws. Topped with a fabulous marble worktop and matching up-stands,which provide a low break between the preparation areas and dinning space. Painted to complement the grey kitchen units, the copper electrical sockets, handles, matching accessories and lampshades provide a warm luxurious glow.
Free standing Islands on legs are an alternative to the traditional Island with a solid plinth. A great compromise between a table and a fixed piece of furniture. They can create a feeling of space due to the open element beneath the Island, but they provide less storage space and cannot incorporate appliances, sinks or power. Alternatively use floor level lighting on a traditional Island to provide a floating illusion and a feeling of space below.
Mixing materials on an island can be a powerful design statement which helps to identify the different uses. A combination of wood and metal can create an industrial vibe, bistro feel or enhance the light with reflective surfaces.
