Handmade traditional painted kitchen designed and installed in Rotherwick, Hook, near Basingstoke
Beau-Port Kitchens in Hampshire designed and installed this beautiful traditional painted shaker style kitchen in Rotherwick near Basingstoke. The bespoke design means everything is on hand for easy entertaining, cooking and socialising. Painted in warm neutral colours with solid oak detailing that complements the beams and bi-fold doors, which let the light flood in.
Our clients were initially undecided on whether they should extend or just replace their current kitchen, the final decision was to extend with a fabulous vaulted room. They loved the Beau-Port Kitchens showroom in Bentworth, near Alton, just a short drive from Basingstoke. With over 2000 square feet of working handmade and contemporary kitchen displays they were inspired and found some great ideas for their new handmade traditional painted kitchen. Mark one of the designers at Beau-Port Kitchens worked with them to design their dream kitchen, ensuring it made the most of the light, space and views of the garden.
He designed a long run of hand made painted furniture along one wall, which sat either side of their large Continental Induction Range Cooker which he framed with a handmade mantel above. The handmade kitchen furniture extended into the living/dinning area with a tall dresser, balancing the height of the range mantle shelf. in addition to providing the ideal place to store table ware for the dinning space. A central Island included a double butlers sink, which faces into the dinning area and garden beyond making it a sociable space with a great view. The granite worktop on the island is both practical and beautiful. Solid oak worktops on the dresser complemented the style and beauty of the beams and door frames. Behind the island is the integrated fridge and freezer and a handmade pantry style cupboard, creating the perfect working triangle for cooking and preparing food, with just a few steps between the sink, food storage and cooking.
Painted in Farrow and Ball, Pavilion Grey on the Island and Old White on the rest of the handmade furniture. The colours were chosen by the client from one of the colour displays in the showrooms. They give this timeless, traditional kitchen a warm contemporary look. Mark also designed a console table which was painted in the same colour as the furniture and has a solid oak top and shelf. The dinning table legs and carvery chairs completed the look and were painted in Pavilion Grey to match the island.
