Contemporary German kitchen transformation for B&B in Hampshire
Our clients in Port Solent were looking for a contemporary German kitchen for their beautiful award winning Art Deco B & B. When they visited Beau-Port Kitchens in Hampshire they knew their search was finally over. They were inspired by the quality and the price of a Rotpunkt contemporary kitchen, the uniqueness of the product and the design expertise . They said they had visited a number of showrooms but had not seen anything quite like the kitchens Beau-Port Kitchens and Interiors had to offer.
Guided by the designer they choose a combination of High Gloss Icy White and Bardolino Oak effect doors and cabinets. A new product from Rotpunkt, the Bardolino Oak conveys the warmth and texture of real wood and bestows a timeless elegance. The sparkling Icy White furniture and work tops provided clean lines, enhancing the light and space of the contemporary modern design. The kitchen was being installed in a new extension and needed to included a utility space and home office area. As a busy B & B a lot of oven space was required. Jacob responded to these challenges by designing a wall mounted picture frame set of cabinets which appear to float just above the floor. Inset into the wall the cabinets house the fridge & freezer, double ovens microwave and warming draws, plus plenty of storage space. Everything in one beautifully designed space, perfect for when people are turning up at different times to eat breakfast.
The hob has been installed in a peninsular unit which also provides a place to catch up. A ceiling mounted extractor unit, offers soft subtle light to the space below, quiet and unobtrusive it allows a clear line of sight across the kitchen to the garden beyond. LED lighting beneath the worktops highlights the profile edges of the handle-less draws and doors. The home office is neatly concealed at the far end of the kitchen behind mid height units which include a roll front shutter cupboard and lots of storage. Perfect for the large toaster and crockery. The space also doubled as the utility room. To maintain the contemporary feel and clean lines Jacob designed a range of cupboards to hide away the appliances. The design through out the extension is handle-less, adding a clean, minimalistic look and feel to what is in fact a very busy multifunctional space.
