Bespoke kitchens in Hampshire

Designing a bespoke kitchen for a historic home in Hampshire comes with its very own set of unique challenges. Not only might it be a listed building but it will also have uneven floors, walls and may have low uneven lath and plaster ceilings. Beau-Port Kitchens in Hampshire was appointed to design and install a new kitchen and utility room in a 16th century cottage, one of the oldest and prettiest buildings in a Hampshire village. Every piece of the handmade furniture was designed to complement the age of the property, utilise all of the available space which was made totally bespoke to the customers home and needs.

With over 20 years of experience and expertise no challenge fazes the designers at Beau-Port kitchens in Hampshire. On this occasion Mark the designer had to take into consideration the historic beams and  large fireplace. This provided a good starting point for the design process, the furniture and worktops were created to fit seamlessly around the rustic wall beams. Including a small Island meant there was additional valuable storage. It also included power sockets and space for  the handmade trays which glide in and out, storing them neatly and discreetly when not in use. The small island design allowed enough space for a table and chairs which seats 5 or 6 people comfortably and ensured the cook was central to the social environment within the kitchen. Pendant lights above the table illuminated both the table and island space with out creating any obstruction due to the low ceilings .An existing walk-in cupboard was refurbished with new shelves, baskets, draws and a new door to create a bespoke pantry store.

Painted in pale green, with pewter handles and solid oak detailing gave this very traditional, handmade, shaker style kitchen, contemporary timeless appeal.

The design for the utility room evolved into an award winning boot room.  Accessed directly from outside it was the perfect place for wet coats, pets and boots. Mark designed open boxed storage sized to fit tall Wellington boots. Handy bench seating was created over smaller open box storage perfect for shoes and trainers. Concealed behind the door it provided a comfortable spot to put on and remove footwear. Coat pegs above the seat meant everything was easily accessible in one place, when coming in or venturing out side. The seating area prevented the door being opened on to anyone behind it. There was also space for the washing machine, dryer and integrated waste bins along one wall, freeing up valuable space in the kitchen.

The boot room furniture reflected the colours and style of the kitchen, providing continuity to the country kitchen design. ‚ÄčImages of this boot room and kitchen have been so popular on Houzz, the leading platform for home renovation and design, that this Beau-Port Kitchens project won a Houzz Award in the Design Category, as some of the most popular among more than 25 million monthly users.
