Which is exactly what our clients in Camberley did. Delighted with the kitchen dinning space Beau-Port designed and installed in their Victorian home, they looked at other areas where they could make the most of the available space and Beau-Port Kitchens and Interior design skills. They invited Mark, Beau-Ports chief designer to create a range of beautiful bedroom furniture for their master bedroom. Mark then came up with the idea of creating a combined home study and dressing room which flowed seamlessly from the master bedroom in to a Gentleman's dressing room and home office. Providing space for the husband to get ready or work in the early hours without disturbing his wife.
In keeping with the age of their home, Mark designed traditional shaker style furniture which was painted in Farrow & Ball Pigeon. A soft neutral colour with gentle blue, grey and green undertones tones. Giving the rooms a classic but contemporary look. This cosy, traditional and calming, colour palette is perfect for both the bedroom and the study. The bedroom consisted of a long run of wardrobes, Mark incorporated a small break front detail which took in the chimney breast. The mid height drawer unit with half height doors opened to reveal a large mirror with concealed drawers for personal items. This broke up the run of wardrobes, created valuable alternative storage and adds interest to to the design. Integrated concealed lighting is activated when the doors to the wardrobes and cupboards are opened and closed. The wardrobes includes varying height hanging rails to accommodate both long, short clothes in addition to clever interchangeable height shoes racks which allow for shoes of all sizes.
The storage was then replicated in the dressing room, in addition to creating a bookcase and cupboards with glass insets and shelves for files and other office equipment. Double wardrobes open to reveal a full length door mirror, concealed open shelf storage for sweaters. Integrated lighting and solid wood detailing added a design feature which complemented the large bespoke desk top, made of beautiful Solid Oroko, an African hardwood.
